The STILL Method was created as a tool to help children and adults manage and overcome anxiety. In 2019, the STILL Method workshops and after school clubs for children were launched and delivered by The Pathway Hypnotherapy Rooms. They are taught by Glen Russell, a trained and licensed coach, to help children and adults overcome anxiety and increase their well-being. Anxiety hugely impacts on young people and adults every day. Additionally, the pandemic has increased the pressure and anxiety people are experiencing. Services such as CAMHS and Social Care are under a lot of pressure and dealing with a backlog, so waiting times can be extreme. The STILL method is a great programme to offer a young person, with the hope that the required CAMHS/Social Care intervention could be lessened so young people have the tools to implement when they are feeling overwhelmed and anxious. This method also supports a reduction in disruptive behaviours in school, as the young people are equipped with the techniques needed to reduce their feeling of anxiety in the moment. By the end of week 6 of the anxiety workshop, individuals will have learned how to use tools that allow them to self-regulate and identify signs within themselves of when they are dysregulated and anxious. The results are life-changing. The STILL Method is appropriate for 1-2-1 with young people and adults, as well as group workshops.
